In the north-west and south-western Ukraine (14% of the total),one can find:

1. Mixed forests.
2. Hardwood forests.

Ukraine has the following species: maple, oak, pine, beech, basswood.

Coniferous forests predominate in the mountainous areas are represented

by spruce and fir.
